Hunt for missing pensioner
 | | Gelsimo Ronchetti |
POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a missing 78-year-old man.
Gelsomino Ronchetti was last seen by his wife at home in Fortis Green Avenue, Muswell Hill, at about 9.30am on Wednesday.
He has never gone missing before and his disappearance is out of character.
Police have searched the Trott Road allotments in Muswell Hill, where he has a patch of land, but have found no trace of him.
While he has been known to visit Wood Green, Edmonton and Clerkenwell, he has a Freedom Pass and could have gone anywhere, said police.
He has no bank cards or mobile phone, and it is not known if he left with any cash.
Mr Ronchetti has a strong Italian accent, is about 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, with brown eyes.
It is believed that he was wearing brown cord trousers, a half length brown jacket and tan shoes.
Police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. Anyone with information about Mr Ronchetti's whereabouts is asked to call Haringey Police at any time on 0300 123 1212.
The Missing Person Unit's non-24-hour service can be contacted directly on 020 8345 1809. Quote CAD5742/03FEB when calling.
