Blooming junction

NEGLECTED" flower beds at a congested junction boosted by a £2,000 cash injection will be in full bloom by the end of the year.

Work to transform the two beds at the corner of Colney Hatch Lane and Pages Lane in Muswell Hill began last week following a successful bid for a council-funded Making the Difference grant by the Muswell Hill and Fortis Green Association.

Association chairman John Hajdu said: "Until now they were neglected and looked like an abandoned site. The reason we asked for the money is because that is a crossing which is used by many people . Lots of cars stop at the traffic lights so we want to make sure it looks good.
