Tributes to dad killed in bike crash
TRIBUTES have been paid to a father of two killed in a horrific motorbike crash.
Student Ibrahim Yalcin, who lived with his girlfriend at Charter Court in Crescent Road, Muswell Hill, died when the 125cc Aprilla superbike he was riding smashed into a lamppost.
The bike climbed the kerb on the central reservation at the junction of Coppetts Close and the North
Circular in Muswell Hill at 1.50pm on July 18 and he lost control and died instantly.
Police and an air ambulance rushed to the scene, but the Turkish-born biker was pronounced dead at 2.40pm.
A memorial service was due to be held at Campsbourne Baptist Church in The Campsbourne, Hornsey, at 2pm yesterday (Wednesday), with more than 100 friends and family expected to attend.
Mourners were also set to lay flowers at the roadside where the young father died after the service.
Girlfriend Louise Joyner has set up a group on social networking site Facebook to publicise the service and it has been inundated with tributes for the young father friends call Ibby.
Sonia Ryall Louise's post said: "I won't be there in person but I will be thinking of Ibby, you and his family. I am devestated for you all. He has left behind two beautiful children... RIP Ibby.x"
Ross Morrison McGill, who taught at Alexandra Park School in Bidwell Gardens, Muswell Hill, until 2008, said on the site: "I am so saddened to hear about this. He was great fun to teach; funny; awkward; always smiling; always laughing and sometimes getting himself into silly trouble. But that was Ibrahim. RIP x."
A six-minute video montage of photographs showing the young biker smiling with friends and cuddling a baby and toddler has also been posted on a second tribute page on Facebook.
A post mortem was carried out at Finchley Mortuary on July 21 and confirmed the cause of death as pelvic, chest and head injuries.
An inquest was opened and adjourned at Barnet Coroner's Court last Thursday.
Police are appealing for information and anyone who witnessed the crash should contact the Road Death Investigation Unit at Alperton Traffic Garage on 020 8998 5319.
