RYMAN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE NORTH

WINGATE manager David Norman believes his side will bounce back from their disappointing draw with Leyton on Tuesday night when second-placed East Thurrock United come calling on Saturday.

The Blues' run of four straight wins in the Ryman League Division One North came to an end in a 1-1 stalemate in Essex, a result the manager admits was 'two points dropped' in the race for the play-offs.

Jordan Fowler cancelled out a first-half own goal from Marc Weatherstone, but despite carving out a number of chances Wingate were unable to find a winner and they stay seventh in the table.

East Thurrock currently hold a seven-point lead over W&F, but Norman is confident the Blues can take all three points on home turf, where they have only lost twice in the league all season.

"To be honest, you wouldn't want to be playing anyone else but one of the top sides in the league, and the lads are looking forward to it," said Norman (pictured).

"We lost 3-0 at their place earlier in the season, in what I felt was a poor display, but we've been good at home all season and we'll try to build on what I thought was a good performance on Tuesday.

"Against Leyton, we were hoping to get three points, but I thought we played well in atrocious conditions. We passed the ball well, but their keeper made five or six fantastic saves.

"We don't change the way we play, we like to get the ball down and pass it, and we'll set ourselves up exactly the same way on Saturday.
